Missions: 2008 Mission Projects
2008 Mission Projects-Moses Lake Alliance Church
2008 Youth Group Mission to Burkina Faso, West Africa
June 14-27, 2008 seven Dunamis high school students and three adults will be traveling to Burkina Faso, West Africa for a short-term missions trip with C&MA missionaries Kevin & Bonnie Oberg. We will be “going out in the bush” with Kevin to villages, some of which have never heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ. While there, we will be helping to complete a pastor’s house in Samorogouan, the village that Dunamis has “adopted.” So, far we have raised over $1500 to help with the construction. This will be the first ever pastor for the village! We will also be helping Kevin do evangelistic meetings in the villages of the Kenedougou region. The Burkinabe people have been very open to the Gospel even though those who decide to follow Christ are often ostracized by their families and community. Please pray for us and that God would use us to help build His kingdom in Burkina Faso.

Operation Baton Rouge

Since Katrina hit the Gulf Coast, MLAC, has participated in multiple trips to bless and support people in Waveland, New Orleans and Baton Rouge. We are in the process of preparing for another trip to the Baton Rouge Ministry Center (BRMC). With our trip in July we seek to continue that much needed work.
This trip in particular will focus on providing additional support to the BRMC. Pastor Randy Knighten, of the BRMC, is preparing for a new missionary couple to assist with the ongoing ministries. Our purpose for this trip is primarily deep cleaning, repairing and painting of that missionary couple’s apartment which is located at the center. This project is a great need and one Pastor Randy specifically identified for our church. Those who have been to the BRMC, you know how much this apartment needs work and what a blessing it will be to their ministry.
If extra resources are available from the people of MLAC we hope to also replace some of the light fixtures, refrigerator, and flooring. In addition, and if time allows, bunk beds for two other apartments will be added as other ministry groups come in to assist the ministry.
There are two ways you can help:
1. Prayer: Please commit to praying for the team as we minister to the people of Baton Rouge.
2. Financially: Please prayerfully consider financially supporting this team and the BRMC ministry. Are you able to contribute an above-and-beyond offering? Contributions can be received from now until the time of our trip by placing your contribution in the offering envelope and directing the amount to Baton Rouge Short- term Missions.
Thank you for your support.
Pastor Kent
