Spiritual Inventory
Short Answers:
1. Please briefly summarize God’s plan of salvation.
2. Can you identify a point in your life when you were without Christ? Are there personal areas of your life in which you have experienced a change since coming to Christ?
3. No one is perfect, yet Psalm 24:4 teaches us to come before the Lord with clean hands and a pure heart. Titus 2:11-14 tells us that we who acknowledge God’s grace should live lives of holiness and self-control, and Colossians 3:12-17 instructs us to clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience and to be in the Word of God. Do these scriptural principles describe you?

6. What other ministry groups, if any, are you involved in at MLAC?

Time and Commitment
Currently, rehearsals are weekly on Wednesdays 8:00 p.m. – 9:15 p.m. in the sanctuary (6:30-8:00 p.m. during the summer). We always work to complete our rehearsals as soon as we can, aware of kids, work, concentration, etc. We are caught in the tension of realizing that many of us have families and the obligation to prepare for Sundays to the best of our abilities. Effort is made each week to keep rehearsal time as short as possible, but we usually end our rehearsal time around 9:15 p.m. with the exception of occasional preparations for special services or elements particular to a specific service (seasonal).
The exact rehearsal schedule varies, but we do our best to communicate where and when everyone needs to be in the rehearsal time. This is accomplished through email and the Planning Center Online website.
By auditioning for worship team, you are also making a commitment to the worship ministry overall, part of which involves being a part of the choir (vocals) when you are not scheduled to be on the worship team. We expect more from our worship team members than we do our choir members by nature of the worship team role, and in addition, involvement in the choir helps to promote a spirit of teamwork within the ministry.
The key to worship team rehearsals and to Sunday services is preparation. We strive to provide you with everything you will need in order to prepare: your schedule, song lists for each service, recordings of songs (when available) and charts for our ensembles. All these things are available to our volunteers through the Planning Center Online website. Our rehearsal times are important, but equally important is your own personal practice time and preparation. We believe strongly that worship team vocalists and the rhythm section, just like the main worship leader, along with the choir, are leading the congregation in worship. As such, it is very important that you are musically and spiritually prepared to do that kind of leading!
Teams are typically scheduled on an every-other-week rotation, but we also ask for flexibility in helping to cover parts when team members are unavailable.
